In a major push to strengthen grassroots sports and nurture talent across the state, the Telangana government has launched the ‘Telangana Kreeda Policy 2025’. This ambitious policy aims to make sports an integral part of rural and urban development, with a focus on inclusivity, infrastructure, and institutional support.

Launched on July 3rd, the policy seeks to identify and train young talent, especially from rural areas, by conducting talent scouting programs, improving school-level sports education, and building state-of-the-art infrastructure such as indoor stadiums, district academies, and coaching centres.
The 7 Key Missions under the policy include:
- Integrating sports with education in all institutions.
- Identifying and nurturing rural talent (Talent Scouting).
- Developing district sports hubs and centers.
- Improving infrastructure in government schools and urban slums.
- Training skilled coaches and upgrading sports science support.
- Creating employment opportunities through sports.
- Promoting a healthy Telangana with wide community participation.
Special incentives, scholarships, and CSR partnerships will drive both participation and performance. Importantly, women athletes, para-sports, and traditional games will also receive focused attention.
With the Kreeda Policy 2025, Telangana is setting a bold vision — to not only produce champions but to make sports a powerful tool for health, education, and social change.
