On Independence Day 2025, the government launched SabhaSaar, an AI-powered platform to modernize Gram Sabhas, the core of India’s Panchayati Raj system. First introduced in Tripura, it will expand nationwide to improve transparency and efficiency in village-level governance.
SabhaSaar converts video and audio recordings of Gram Sabha meetings into structured minutes. Built on the Bhashini platform, it supports multiple Indian languages and integrates with the e-GramSwaraj portal for seamless documentation. This ensures standardized records, easy access for citizens, and greater accountability.
The tool is part of a larger digital ecosystem, complementing the Panchayat NIRNAY Portal for meeting monitoring and e-GramSwaraj for planning and budgets. Together, these platforms strengthen participatory democracy by making Gram Sabha proceedings more transparent and inclusive.
