Every year, lakhs of Indian pensioners must submit a Life Certificate to continue receiving pensions. In 2025, this process has become easier than ever with the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) system — known as Jeevan Pramaan. Using Aadhaar-based biometric verification, pensioners can now confirm their living status online without visiting banks or offices.
The Life Certificate submission window runs from November 1 to November 30, 2025, while pensioners aged 80 and above can submit early from October 1, 2025. Missing the deadline may temporarily pause pension payments until verification is completed.
Pensioners can generate their Digital Life Certificate through:
- The Jeevan Pramaan portal using a biometric device.
- The UMANG app for mobile-based verification.
- Common Service Centres (CSCs) or bank branches for assisted submissions.
- India Post Payments Bank’s doorstep service, especially for those unable to travel.
Key details required include Aadhaar number, mobile number, PPO number, and bank details. Once verified, a unique Pramaan ID is generated and automatically shared with the pension disbursing agency.
Legally recognized under the IT Act, 2000, Jeevan Pramaan has transformed pension verification into a secure, transparent, and senior-friendly digital service, ensuring that India’s senior citizens receive their pensions with dignity and ease.
