Hyderabad Horror: Cockroach Found Cooked Inside Mysore Bajji at Babai Hotel — Owner Blames Nearby Road Excavation

Hyderabad, November 24, 2025:
A shocking food contamination incident at Babai Hotel in Madinaguda has triggered widespread public outrage after a woman found a cockroach cooked inside her Mysore Bajji, causing her to vomit on the spot.

The victim, Ms. Monika , stated that she had barely taken a few bites when she noticed a strange object inside the bajji. On closer inspection, she realized it was a fully cooked cockroach.Babai hotel cockroach

Horrified, she immediately vomited, leaving her shaken and distressed.

Residents of Madinaguda and Miyapur have since raised serious concerns about the hygiene standards in local eateries.

Owner’s Explanation Sparks More Anger
When confronted by Ms. Monika and locals, Krishna, the owner of Babai Hotel, tried to defend the negligence by blaming the ongoing road excavation work in front of the hotel.
He claimed the digging activity has increased flies in the area, making such incidents “unavoidable.”

But the public strongly rejected this explanation. Locals questioned:
“Even if there are flies outside, how does a cockroach get cooked inside the food unless the kitchen is unhygienic?”

Many argued that proper food covering, sanitation, and discipline in the kitchen could have easily prevented this contamination.

Public Outrage: ‘Clear Negligence’
Following the incident, angry residents gathered at the hotel calling the situation “dangerous and disgusting.”
Regular customers expressed fear that such negligence poses serious health risks.

Several people took to social media demanding strict action, urging authorities to conduct immediate inspections across the city.

• Temporary shutdown of the hotel if violations are proven

She stated:
“No citizen should have to face such dirty, dangerous food. Strict action must be taken.”

Rising Food Safety Concerns in Hyderabad
Hyderabad has witnessed several food hygiene violations in recent months. This latest incident increases pressure on authorities to enforce stronger safety checks across hotels, tiffin centers, and fast-food outlets.

Citizens emphasized that negligence in food handling is not a minor lapse but a serious threat to public health.
