The National DMF Summit 2026 will be held on March 23–24 at the SCOPE Convention Centre, organized by the Ministry of Mines. The summit aims to improve the utilization of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds in mining-affected regions and ensure better outcomes for local communities.

The event will bring together policymakers, administrators, and experts to discuss strategies for efficient fund usage, transparency, and improved coordination between central, state, and district authorities. The focus is on ensuring that DMF funds directly contribute to socio-economic development in affected areas.

Key themes of the summit include governance, accountability, convergence with existing schemes, and impact assessment of projects. Special emphasis is being placed on aligning DMF funds with initiatives like the Aspirational Districts Programme to accelerate development in underdeveloped regions.

The District Mineral Foundation, established under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, is funded by mining companies to support the welfare of communities affected by mining activities.

The summit marks a significant step toward ensuring that mineral wealth contributes to inclusive and sustainable development across India.
