India has 7th healthiest cuisine

Analyzing the average caloric content, a recent study identified the top 10 countries with the healthiest national cuisines. While India is in 7th position, South Korea tops the list of healthiest countries with an average of 68.33 calories for national dishes.

India’s average is 186 calories, with notable dishes known worldwide such as Khichdi, Biryani and Jalebi. Khichdi, which is widely regarded as a sick day food, was termed the least caloric among them with 120 calories per 100 grams.

To identify the top 10 countries with the healthiest national cuisines, PTPioneer.com analyzed the average caloric content of national dishes, favorite local dishes, and traditional desserts from various countries. The average calorie count per 100 grams of these three dishes was determined for each country to show the typical nutritional value. Rankings were then determined based on the lowest average caloric values of 3 dishes.
