In a significant step toward strengthening welfare measures for legal professionals across India, a formal representation has been submitted to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Justice Suryakanth, and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. The representation outlines long-pending demands concerning the safety, financial security, and professional support of advocates.

Key Demands Presented

The delegation highlighted several crucial reforms needed to safeguard advocates and improve their welfare:

  • Enactment of an Advocates Protection Act to ensure the safety of lawyers nationwide.
  • Provision of comprehensive medical insurance for practicing advocates.
  • Stipend support for junior advocates to help them sustain themselves financially during the early years of practice.
  • Retirement benefits to provide long-term financial security to legal professionals.
