AIMIM, BJP candidates file nominations  

Hyderabad: AMIM, BJP and BRS leaders have filed their nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Friday. Nominations were filed for both parliamentary seats in the city – Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

For the Hyderabad seat, along with incumbent Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM, independent candidate Mohammed Akram Ali Khan filed their papers with the Returning Officer for Hyderabad and Collector Anudeep Durishetty. Whereas incumbent Kishan Reddy of the BJP and T. Padma Rao of the BRS threw their hat in the ring for Secunderabad, alongside four others, one of whom is an independent.

Moreover, District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose asked political parties and contesting candidates to get permission for advertisements from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee(MCMC) for print advertisements, electronic media, social media, bulk SMS, video messages, and others. All applications should be submitted at least 48 hours before.

The Expenditure Observers appointed by the Election Commission of India – Senthil Kumaran and Amit Shukla – have also reached the city and met district election officials. Emphasizing on following the rules, they said Nodal Officers must perform their duties vigilantly.

After District Election Officer Ronald Rose took them through a presentation which detailed the district profile, number of voters, polling booths, various enforcement teams, and other key details along with seizures done so far. Additional CP Vikram Singh Mann explained arrangements being made by the police department. The observers expressed their satisfaction.

Nodal Officers, Returning Officers, and other senior officers from various departments attended the meeting.
