Hyderabad: Hyderabad showed its admiration for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar while celebrating the 133rd anniversary of his birth. Ambedkar is widely regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution. Annually celebrated on 14th April, Ambedkar Jayanthi is a day of honor for this great man who was an indelible mark in the social and political landscape of the country.

Besides special events and performances, his statue on the Tank Bund was visited by a great number of people on this day. White and blue colors became their symbols, which expressed his ideas. Such events hold the city in a good light as they show the city’s art and creativity while the masses are sensitized on the importance of justice and equality.

In addition to that, social-political organizations and movements of Dalit rights were also actively involved in organizing rallies, marches, and public gatherings to demonstrate their loyalty to his ideas. These events function as forums for the cause of educating the public on the ongoing fight for social justice, fighting for the rights of the oppressed, and rallying support for inclusive programs and policies.

GHMC also paid tribute to him at their headquarters by placing flower bouquets. Speaking on this occasion, they said that today’s youth should strive for Ambedkar’s ambitions as he is the great man who resisted discrimination and stood as a beacon of hope for the weaker sections of society.

Additional Commissioner (Estate) K. Srivastava, Nalini Padmavathy (Admin), K. Satyanarayana (Legal), Yadagiri Rao (Sports), Chief Entomology Dr. Rambabu, Labor Personnel Officer Venkata Bhaskar Reddy and others were present.
