Hyderabad, September 30, 2024: The Alumni Association of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University has appealed to the government to revoke its decision to allocate 10 acres of the university’s land to Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU).
The association condemned the move, emphasizing that Ambedkar Open University plays a crucial role in providing affordable higher education to marginalized and economically disadvantaged students, particularly women’s. They argued that reallocating this land would undermine the university’s mission to serve these communities.
In a recent meeting, the association expressed its full support for any decisions made by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) in response to this issue. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the land allocation decision.
Key participants in the meeting included Dr. Banoth Dharma, the university’s nodal officer, Association President Saka Venkateshwar Rao, Secretary Dr. Udayini, and several other executive committee members.
