Amit Shah Launches National Cooperation Policy 2025 to Transform Grassroots Development

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah officially launched the National Cooperation Policy – 2025, a visionary blueprint aimed at transforming India’s cooperative movement into a dynamic engine of inclusive growth. The policy, guided by the motto “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation), aspires to significantly expand the cooperative sector’s contribution to India’s GDP and empower rural communities by 2047.

The policy outlines ambitious goals, such as tripling the sector’s GDP share by 2034, integrating 50 crore citizens into cooperative ventures, and generating employment across diverse sectors including agriculture, tourism, taxi services, green energy, and more.

Key features include the establishment of one cooperative per panchayat, the development of five model cooperative villages per tehsil, women’s participation in White Revolution 2.0, and youth engagement through tech-driven cooperatives like Sahkar Taxi. It also introduces legal reforms, transparent monitoring systems, and the creation of Tribhuvan Sahkari University for capacity building.

The launch of this policy marks a historic step in reimagining India’s cooperative ecosystem as a cornerstone of self-reliant and equitable development.
