Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, launched Angikaar 2025, a two-month national outreach campaign under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) in New Delhi. The initiative, running from 4th September to 31st October 2025, aims to bridge last-mile gaps in housing delivery and enhance community participation.
The campaign will operate across 5,000+ Urban Local Bodies, focusing on awareness, verification of applications, and completion of sanctioned houses. Beneficiaries will also be informed about linked schemes such as CRGFTLIH and PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, with priority given to vulnerable groups.
Since PMAY-U’s launch, 120 lakh houses have been sanctioned, with 94.11 lakh completed. Angikaar 2025 is expected to accelerate construction of the remaining homes and bring one crore additional urban families under PMAY-U 2.0, each eligible for financial assistance of ₹2.5 lakh.
By promoting Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation), the campaign reinforces the government’s vision of ‘Housing for All’, ensuring that no urban family is left behind.
