Hyderabad:
Under the leadership of Sri Ponnam Ashok Goud, Chairman of the TPCC Legal, Human Rights and RTI Department, a detailed representation was submitted on Tuesday to the Telangana State Election Commission seeking postponement of the Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) examination scheduled for 14 December 2025.
The memorandum was formally submitted to Smt. Rani Kumudini, Commissioner, and Sri Manda Makarand, Secretary of the State Election Commission. The TPCC Legal Department pointed out that the APP examination date coincides with the Panchayat elections being conducted across Telangana on the same day, which could create serious logistical and democratic concerns.
Expressing strong objections, the TPCC Legal wing stated that the simultaneous scheduling of the examination and polling process would cause hardship to thousands of candidates, particularly APP aspirants who have to travel from various districts to their examination centres. The department highlighted that many candidates are also registered voters contesting or participating in the local body elections, making it difficult for them to discharge both responsibilities on the same day.
The representation further warned that such scheduling may adversely affect voter turnout and place aspirants in a dilemma of choosing between appearing for a crucial career-defining examination and exercising their constitutional right to vote. The TPCC Legal Department urged the Election Commission and the concerned authorities to immediately reschedule the APP examination to ensure free and fair participation in the democratic process.
The memorandum was presented by a delegation consisting of Deva E (Vice Chairman), Momin Roshan (General Secretary), Narendar (Convenor), Kishan Raj (Hyderabad District Chairman), Raj Kumar (High Court Convenor), Vijay (Member), Sukumar, and Irfan.
The TPCC urged the authorities to take swift action in the interest of justice, transparency and public convenience.
