In a startling security incident during Zero Hour on Wednesday, two men Attack on Parliamen. They jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, emitting yellow smoke from canisters. CCTV footage captured one man in a dark blue shirt jumping over desks, while the other sprayed smoke in the gallery. MPs and security staff quickly overpowered both men.
After the Lok Sabha session resumed, Speaker Om Birla addressed the issue, stating that the matter was under investigation with the help of Delhi Police. He informed the MPs, who were visibly shaken, that both individuals were apprehended and the materials they carried were seized. The intruders, identified as Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan, were arrested outside Parliament.
Footage from news agency ANI showed the chaos unfolding, with officials and MPs trying to control the situation. The footage included moments of panic with shouts to catch one of the intruders, Sagar Sharma, as he attempted to approach the Speaker’s Chair. Notable members like Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Anupriya Patel, were present during this incident.
