Indian craft spirits received a major global boost as Camikara, a premium pure cane-juice rum, won the prestigious ‘Rum Brand of the Year’ at The Spirits Business Awards 2025 in London. This marks the first time an Indian rum has claimed the top honour, outperforming well-established brands from traditional rum regions like the Caribbean and Latin America.
Judges praised Camikara for redefining Indian rum craftsmanship and setting new global standards.
Produced by Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd, Camikara is celebrated as India’s first pure cane-juice aged rum. Distilled from fresh sugarcane juice and matured in American oak barrels in North India, it contains no added colour, flavour, or sugar, showcasing true authenticity.
The brand offers 3-year, 8-year, and 12-year aged expressions and follows a bartender-first strategy to strengthen its presence in premium bars and craft spirits circles.
With this remarkable win, Camikara is expected to expand its international footprint and elevate India’s reputation in the global spirits landscape.
