Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s nominee, secured 452 votes, defeating Opposition candidate and former Supreme Court judge B. Sudershan Reddy, who garnered 300 votes. His tally included unexpected cross-votes from outside the NDA, further boosting the ruling coalition’s political strength.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Radhakrishnan, expressing confidence that he would uphold and reinforce India’s constitutional values. With this victory, the NDA consolidates its presence in the nation’s highest offices, while Radhakrishnan’s elevation is seen as a landmark moment in his long political career.
