Cyclone Michaung Hits Chennai: Heavy Rains Cause Major Disruptions
Chennai in India is facing big problems due to Cyclone Michaung. The storm brought lots of rain, causing floods and bad incidents. Two people died and another got hurt when a wall fell down in Kanathur because of the rain and strong winds.
The storm over the Bay of Bengal got stronger, and the weather department said it’s now a severe cyclonic storm. It’s moving towards Andhra Pradesh’s coast.
The Tamil Nadu government told people in Chennai and nearby to stay home from work. They kept important services like milk and hospitals going. The disaster team sent teams to Tamil Nadu, AP and Puducherry.
The weather department warned of more heavy rain. Because of this, the Odisha government and the railways are also getting ready.
A person stuck in their car in Chennai’s Perambur – Jamalia area asked for help on Twitter. They shared their location and phone number, hoping someone would come to rescue them. This shows how serious the situation is in Chennai because of the cyclone.
