Nagaland Nominates Dzükou Valley for Global Tourism Development

Nagaland Proposes Dzükou Valley for Development as Global Tourist Destination

Nagaland has nominated Dzükou Valley as its official entry under the national programme to develop 50 tourist destinations of global standards. The proposal was presented by Temjen Imna Along, the state’s Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, at the National Conference of State Tourism Ministers in Udaipur.

The initiative, launched by the Ministry of Tourism, aims to enhance infrastructure, promote sustainable tourism, and preserve cultural and natural heritage. Dzükou Valley, known for its pristine environment, rich biodiversity, and cultural significance, is proposed for development with an estimated investment of ₹250 crore, including an eco-friendly luxury hotel and improved tourist facilities.

The project emphasises eco-tourism to protect the fragile ecosystem while offering modern amenities. It is expected to boost tourist arrivals, create employment, and stimulate local businesses, positioning Dzükou Valley as an international eco-tourism destination. Collaboration between the central and state governments and local communities is central to ensuring sustainable development.
