Hyderabad: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana, the Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and the (BJP) witnessed a major political clash in the form of a poster war. The ruling Telangana party BRS triggered the clash by placing posters near Shamshabad airport, where Modi was scheduled to arrive. The graffiti challenged the prime minister on unfulfilled promises to the country over the past decade. One of the major issues raised was the denial of state status to Palamuru Rangareddy’s project, which is a major concern considering similar status given to projects in other states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka shell
In light of these unfulfilled promises, the BRS questioned Modi’s ability to visit Mahabubnagar, saying, “Welcome Modiji, what happened to your promise of statehood for the Palamuru Rangareddy project around”. The party also accused the chief minister of insulting the state by saying that Telangana had practiced stepmother treatment and said that he had no right to visit the state. These claims were supported by documents showing promises made by Modi to Telangana, including ITIR, textile parks, security corridors and setting up of educational institutions
In response, the BJP has called on Telangana Chief Minister K.S. This exchange of sharp political messages through posters highlights the fierce electoral contest and increasing campaign activities in Telangana ahead of the state elections
