Food safety inspection in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Task Force Team, constituted by the Commissioner of Food Safety, has conducted inspections at the following locations on Wednesday.

1. 36 Downtown Brew Pub, Jubilee Hills

A. Expired food articles such as Sneha Chicken, Done’s Button Mushroom, Hoisin

Sauce and Knorr Chicken Saucing Powder worth Rs.4,000/- were found and discarded.

B. Semi-Prepared food articles were stored inside refrigerator without proper labelling and proper covering.

C. Dustbins found open without lids and medical fitness certificates for food handlers not found with the FBO.

2. Makau Kitchen & Bar, Jubilee Hills

A. Expired Food articles such as Sneha Chicken, Bull Dog veg and fruit sauce, Mala’s Orange Marmalade, Tiparos Fish sauce, Kewpie Mayonnaise, Misbranded cashew packets and fungus infected cashew worth Rs.4,970/- were found inside store room and made them discarded on the spot.

B. Veg and non-Veg food articles were stored together in a single fridge and without proper labelling and lids on them.

C. Live Cockroaches found in store area and broken tiles observed near rotia making Bhatti area.

3. Naturals Ice Cream, Jubilee Hills

A. Ice-cream stored in steel containers inside refrigerator were found without proper labelling

B. Ice-cream Cones stored inside steel containers without proper labelling.

C. Medical fitness certificate of food handlers not available.

D. FSSAI License not displayed inside the premises at the time of inspection.

In the recent times, the number of such inspections have increased and there are strict measures being taken. Also, some media houses published Makau Kitchen’s clarification where they said that the items were not used for cooking.
