In a proud moment for Telangana, Gattu Block in Jogulamba Gadwal district has secured the 5th position nationally and 2nd place in Zone-3 in the latest NITI Aayog Delta Rankings (Jan–Mar 2025) under the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP).
Gattu competed among 500 underdeveloped blocks from across India and was assessed on 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) spread across five core sectors: Health & Nutrition, Education, Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Basic Infrastructure, and Social Development.
The block demonstrated significant progress, improving its composite score from 61.24 to 69.43, marking an 8.19% increase. As a result, Gattu Block will receive a ₹1 crore cash incentive and will be featured on the ‘Wall of Fame’ by NITI Aayog.
Launched in 2023, the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) is a flagship initiative by NITI Aayog aimed at transforming India’s most backward blocks through real-time data monitoring, ranking-based performance incentives, and targeted development efforts.
This recognition reaffirms NITI Aayog’s commitment to cooperative federalism and evidence-based policymaking, supporting grassroots development with a focus on outcomes and measurable impact.
