Global Powers Ramp Up Defense Against China Cyber Threats
Citing security concerns over cybersecurity, the US and UK are working together to strengthen their response to the threat posed by Chinese hackers believed to target critical systems and engage in cyber espionage.
The joint operation reflects a larger warning about state-sponsored cyber operations linked to China and represents an increase in cyber defenses against threats.
Microsoft played an important role in revealing the depth of cyber attacks, especially with the operation called Volt Typhoon. The technology company announced that government-backed Chinese hackers have infiltrated communications critical to US infrastructure since mid-2021 for long-term exploitation.
