On October 14, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa held high-level talks in New Delhi, celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between India and Mongolia. - 10 MoUs Signed: Covering areas such as humanitarian aid, heritage restoration, immigration cooperation, mineral exploration, cooperatives, and digital governance.
- Energy Partnership: India reiterated support for Mongolia’s $1.7 billion oil refinery project, expected to process 5 million metric tons of crude annually by 2028, boosting Mongolia’s energy independence.
- Digital and Educational Cooperation: India will digitise one million ancient Mongolian manuscripts and send a Sanskrit teacher to the Gandan Monastery, strengthening academic and spiritual ties.
- Cultural Diplomacy: Free e-visas for Mongolian citizens, annual youth exchanges, and plans to send holy relics of Arahants Sariputra and Maudgalyayana in 2026.
- Global Cooperation: Mongolia reaffirmed its support for India’s permanent UNSC membership and joined the International Big Cat Alliance, deepening environmental and defence collaboration.
