In 2024, there has been a notable rise in Indian migration to the United States. Over 10,382 Indians have moved to America for employment, and 34,535 have received U.S. citizenship, achieving 70% of the year’s target in just the first half. Additionally, more than 500 Indian minors were adopted by American families.
The Hyderabad U.S. Consulate has been actively handling visa services and monitoring migration trends. However, concerns have emerged over illegal migration, especially through Mexico and Canada, with 332 Indians caught in illegal border crossings in April 2024 alone. Some families are even sending children alone via brokers in hopes of a better life.
While legal immigration continues to grow, the rise in illegal attempts highlights the need for awareness and stricter border monitoring.
