International Collaboration Intensifies as India Battles Global Drug Mafia

Amit Shah Leads Historic Drug Crackdown, NCB Destroys Record Narcotics

Union Minister Amit Shah spearheads a groundbreaking conference on ‘Drugs Smuggling and National Security,’ as the NCB makes history by destroying 1,44,000 kilograms of narcotics in a single day. The nation’s unwavering war on drugs has resulted in 10 lakh kilograms worth Rs 12,000 crore destroyed since last year.

Shah’s strong stance on tackling the drug trade as a national security issue has led to a zero-tolerance policy against traffickers, doubling drug seizures since 2013. Arrests of drug traffickers have seen a remarkable 296% increase, with a whopping 181% rise in cases.

Financial investigations intensify, with intelligence agencies seizing smugglers’ assets, resulting in assets worth Rs 15,98,37,784 confiscated in 27 cases in 2022. International collaboration with agencies like DEA, AFP, NCA, and RCMP strengthens the fight against the global drug mafia, with 44 countries signing MoUs.

Raising awareness is crucial, with over 8000 youth volunteers engaging 3 crore youth and 2 crore women through Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. Shah stresses that timely action is vital to combat drug addiction’s harmful consequences on individuals, society, and the nation.

The Modi-Shah duo’s unwavering commitment drives India towards a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Drug-Free India) through a three-pronged strategy and resolute zero-tolerance policy. The nation marches forward with renewed determination, breaking free from the clutches of drug abuse.
