The Role of Media in Geo-politics Held at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University
Hyderabad– A special lecture on “The Role of Media in Geo-politics” was successfully conducted today at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Organized by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, the event attracted journalism students and faculty eager to gain insights into the influence of media on global political affairs.
Mr. Peravali Sudhakar Sharma**, Chief Editor of 4 Sides Broadcasting, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the changing landscape of international politics, focusing on the evolving dynamics between global powers such as China and the United States. He emphasized the importance of media in shaping international relations and encouraged journalists to steer away from sensationalism and “yellow journalism.”
Mr. Sharma also shared his concerns about the environmental impact of human actions, highlighting that no individual on Earth holds a “Permanent Residence Planet” (PRP) – a symbolic reference to the need for humanity to act responsibly toward nature.
The event also featured Ms. G. Anjali CEO of 4 Sides Broadcasting News Network Pvt. Ltd., who spoke about the opportunities available for students in the media industry. As the youngest CEO in the media field, Ms. Anjali extended an open offer to journalism students interested in internships and careers at 4 Sides Broadcasting, sparking great enthusiasm among the audience.
Prof. Srinivas Vaddanam, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at BRAOU, addressed the importance of journalism in transcending barriers of caste, creed, and religion, urging students to always stand for truth and justice in their work.
The day’s events began with a session on “Preparation of Project Report,” followed by the special lecture, and concluded with a studio visit to the headquarters of 4 Sides Broadcasting at Banjara Hills, giving students a rare opportunity to experience the fast-paced environment of a working news network.
