Mission Shakti 5.0 Launched in Uttar Pradesh to Empower Women and Strengthen Safety

Government of Uttar Pradesh launched the fifth phase of Mission Shakti on 22 September 2025, aligning with Sharadiya Navratri, to enhance women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment across the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed coordinated efforts among departments and stronger police presence during the campaign.

The initiative deploys 44,177 women police across 57,000 villages and 14,000 urban wards to educate women on their rights and ensure public safety. PRV-112 vehicles are on active patrol, and women’s helpline 1090 operates round-the-clock. Awareness drives, legal aid in jails, and Pink Booths offer support services, while strict action is taken against offenders through the Anti-Romeo Squad and fast-tracked trials.

Special operations like Operation Garuda (cybercrime), Operation Bachpan (child rescue), and Operation Nasha Mukti (drug offences) continue to show strong results. Earlier phases reached over 2 crore women, and the state now leads India with a 98.80% case disposal rate on the Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offenses portal.
