Secundrebad — In a strategic move to ensure a safe and successful Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rashmi Perumal of the North Zone led a critical meeting yesterday at Tivoli Gardens with Ganesh Mandal organizers and members and Ganesh Utsav Samithi. The session, which included key representatives from various local authorities, was designed to address and resolve potential challenges ahead of the festival.

The North Zone Police Department is collaborating closely with multiple agencies, including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Water Works, and the Electricity Department. This joint effort aims to address operational issues and ensure a smooth festival experience for the community.

During the meeting, DCP Perumal stressed the need for enhanced safety measures at Ganesh mandaps. One of the primary recommendations was the installation of CCTV cameras to monitor and prevent thefts and other disturbances. The goal is to keep the Ganesh idols secure and to provide a trouble-free experience for festival-goers.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) shared insights based on past festival experiences, highlighting the risks associated with the immersion process on the final day, which often involves large crowds and heavy vehicle movement. He advised organizers to maintain vigilance, particularly concerning safety around vehicles, and warned about the dangers of people sitting on top of vehicles or extending their legs outside.

The meeting was well-attended, featuring the North Zone Police Department’s leadership, including the DCP, Additional DCP, four Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and various Inspectors. The strong turnout of organizers and Ganesh Utsav Samithi members highlighted the collaborative approach being taken to prepare for the festival.

The North Zone Police Department is dedicated to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated safely and joyfully, upholding the festival’s true spirit.
