In a landmark step toward transforming India’s civil services training ecosystem, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutes (NSCSTI) 2.0. Developed by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), this upgraded framework is a core part of Mission Karmayogi, India’s flagship program for bureaucratic reform.
NSCSTI 2.0 is designed to modernize and harmonize training across more than 160 Civil Services Training Institutes (CSTIs). The updated model encourages digital-first learning, AI integration, and the inclusion of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). The new framework also aligns with the Karmayogi Competency Model (KCM) and draws from Amrit Gyaan Kosh (AGK) to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.
Key highlights include a reduction in evaluation criteria (from 59 to 43) for streamlined implementation, a reactivated accreditation portal for transparency, and flexible applicability across Central, State, and Urban Local Body institutes.
NSCSTI 2.0 sets a benchmark in governance reform, aiming to make Indian civil services more accountable, citizen-centric, and future-ready. Its growing global interest positions India as a leader in administrative capacity building.
