The National Zoological Park (NZP), New Delhi, has introduced two new digital initiatives—the NZP Saathi App and Self-Ticketing Kiosks—to enhance visitor convenience and modernize the zoo experience. The initiatives were inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh.
The NZP Saathi App serves as a smart digital guide for visitors and is available on both Android and iOS platforms. It features an interactive zoo map, real-time navigation, information about animal exhibits, and guidance to facilities such as washrooms, food courts, buggy points, and exits. The app also offers thematic tour options, including Express Tour, Family Tour, Grand Zoo Tour, and customizable “My Tour” itineraries.
In addition, self-ticketing kiosks have been installed within the zoo premises, allowing visitors to purchase tickets through UPI-based digital payments. Free Wi-Fi has also been provided to support seamless online ticket booking and cashless transactions, helping reduce queues and improve entry efficiency.
Established in 1959, the National Zoological Park in New Delhi is one of India’s premier zoological institutions. The new digital initiatives align with the government’s efforts to promote smart tourism, improve visitor engagement, and strengthen awareness about wildlife conservation and animal welfare.
