Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 1, 2025, unveiled a commemorative ₹100 silver coin to mark the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event holds historic significance as it marks the first-ever appearance of Bharat Mata on Indian currency since independence.
The coin, symbolising patriotism and national service, features Bharat Mata in Varada Mudra, blessing an RSS Swayamsevak bowing in reverence. The image is accompanied by a lion motif and the RSS motto — “Rashtray Swaha, Idam Rashtriya, Idam Na Mama” — meaning “Everything is dedicated to the nation; everything belongs to the nation, nothing is mine.”
On the obverse side, the coin bears the Lion Capital of Ashoka, India’s national emblem. Made of pure silver, the ₹100 coin celebrates not just the centenary of the RSS but also reflects India’s spiritual heritage and ideals of selfless service.
Prime Minister Modi described the coin as “a moment of great pride and historical significance,” symbolising the unity of national identity and cultural legacy.
