Polling ended peacefully: District Election Officer Ronald Rose

Hyderabad: District Election Officer, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that polling in the district ended peacefully.He said that the voting process has started in all the polling booths within the limits of Hyderabad, Secunderabad Parliament Constituency and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly Constituency on time on Monday.

The process was conducted peacefully under the supervision of the respective returning officers. While problems arose during the mock polling in some polling centers, they were immediately rectified with the help of the relevant engineers.

District Election Officer visited multiple polling centers and observed the process. Several instructions were given to the authorities. Rose along with his family members also exercised their right to vote at the polling center of Venkateswara Fine Arts College in Madhapur.

Afterwards, the election process was monitored through webcasting from the control room set up in the District Election Officer’s office in GHMC headquarters. He alerted the authorities about the issues that came to his attention.

The voter helpline complaint center and the staff performance at the MCC center were inspected and asked if there were any complaints.

45. 91 lakh votes were eligible in 3986 polling centers in the entire district along with 2,53,706 voters in 232 polling centers in Secunderabad Cantonment by-election. During the voting on May 13, as per the information received till 5 pm in Hyderabad constituency 39.17 percent votes were recorded, Secunderabad Parliament 42.48 percent and Cantonment saw 47.88 percent.

After the completion of polling, the polling staff along with these EVMs reached the reception center set up in that constituency safely along with the sector officer. A free bus facility was arranged for them to go home. Apart from that, polling officials were provided food and accommodation at the DRC center.
