Sanchar Saathi App Expands to 22 Languages to Tackle Telecom Cyber Frauds

To boost digital security across linguistic barriers, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the Sanchar Saathi mobile app in Hindi and 21 regional languages. Originally launched in January 2025, the app has already crossed 46 lakh downloads and is designed to protect mobile users from telecom-related cyber frauds.

Key Features:

  • Report suspicious calls/messages
  • Block or trace lost/stolen phones
  • Check for unauthorized mobile connections

This multilingual rollout ensures wider accessibility, particularly for rural and semi-urban users, who are more vulnerable to digital fraud.

At the launch in New Delhi, stakeholders from law enforcement, telecom operators, financial institutions, and civil society groups participated in discussions to enhance national efforts against cyber threats.

The app, developed with support from C-DOT, DoT, and RPF, is seen as a major step in India’s mission to create a secure and inclusive telecom ecosystem, empowering users with the tools to protect themselves.
