Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Secunderabad division found and retrieved a passenger’s luggage from Train number 18520 (LTT Visakhapatnam Express) with remarkable speed.
On Saturday, April 20, S K Ahamed, a passenger from Lingampalli who had taken train No. 18520 from Kalaburgi, complained to T. Ashok Singh, Asst Sub-Inspector/Secunderabad, about having left his luggage behind at the Lingampalli railway station.
When the RPF officer T. Ashok Singh learned of the forgotten luggage bag, he acted quickly. With cooperation, the watchful ASI/SC searched the S6-coach, berth No. 5, and found the bag, which included a power bank and necessary clothing worth Rs 2000. On Sunday, the passenger received the retrieved luggage and other goods.
In a separate occurrence, on Sunday, a passenger’s concern on train number 12591, S1-63, during their journey from Ghorakpur to Secunderabad was promptly addressed in response to the complaint. When Jivdhan, a 44-year-old passenger from Uttar Pradesh, got off the train at Jammikunta to buy a water bottle, he discovered that it was leaving without him.
When the train arrived, the passenger’s bag was retrieved because M. Venkata Reddy, Sub-Inspector/Secunderabd, immediately alerted the coach TTE. After being examined, the bag—which contained $5,000 worth of Mason equipment and clothing—was given to traveler Jivdhan along with the appropriate acknowledgement.
Under Operation Amarnath, the RPF post in Secunderabad has recovered commodities valued at Rs. 11.61 lakh in 52 incidents throughout the year 2024, which fosters goodwill and increases passenger confidence.
