In an inspiring story of innovation and determination, 22-year-old Talluri Pallavi from Khammam, Telangana, has developed an AI-powered nutrition assistant that can not only recognise food items using computer vision but also suggest personalised dietary advice through natural language processing. Her creation aims to help people make smarter, healthier food choices every day.
Pallavi’s journey began in Arempula village, just six kilometres from Khammam district headquarters. Despite coming from humble beginnings, she excelled academically, completing her schooling in her hometown and later earning a B.Tech in Computer Science from KITS College. Her father, Talluri Ravi, a private electrician, worked tirelessly to support her education and passion for technology.
Her innovation earned her national recognition when she topped the country in the Artificial Intelligence Programming Assistant (AIPA) category at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh in New Delhi, where she received the National Award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Talluri Pallavi’s achievement is more than just a personal milestone — it represents the rise of India’s young innovators who are blending technology with social impact. Her AI nutrition assistant stands as a symbol of how AI and health tech can converge to create meaningful change, and her journey continues to inspire youth across the nation.
