6-Year-Old Teghbir Singh Becomes Youngest Mountaineer to Summit Mount Elbrus

In a historic achievement, six-year-old Teghbir Singh from Punjab, India, has become the youngest mountaineer in the world to scale Mount Elbrus—the highest peak in both Russia and Europe, standing tall at 18,510 feet (5,642 metres).

This remarkable feat was accomplished in July 2025, adding to Teghbir’s growing list of mountaineering milestones. Just a year earlier, in August 2024, he became the youngest Asian to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.

Mount Elbrus, also ranked as the 10th most prominent peak in the world, presents harsh weather and challenging conditions. Teghbir’s successful ascent at such a young age highlights his extraordinary courage, preparation, and determination.

His achievement is being celebrated across India, especially in Punjab, where he’s already being hailed as a rising star in adventure sports. Teghbir’s story serves as an inspiration for young aspirants and a proud moment for Indian mountaineering.
