Telangana government introduces BC 1 Lakh Scheme to provide fincial support to backward classes

The Telangana State government is introducing a new financial assistance scheme, BC 1 Lakh Scheme to support BCs (Backward Classes). Professionals engaged in caste-based occupations will receive 1 lakh without needing a bank account.

The scheme  launched on June 9, with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao personally distributing the cheques. Eligibility Criteria for BC 1 Lakh Scheme

To be eligible for the BC 1 Lakh Scheme, individuals must meet the following criteria:

Residents of Telangana falling under the BC 1 category.
Aged between 18-55 years.
Annual income below Rs. 1.5 lakhs when residing in villages or Rs. 2 lakhs when residing in towns.
Individuals who have already received Rs. 50,000 or more from other government welfare schemes in the previous five years are not eligible for this scheme.
Only one person per family can avail of the scheme.
