Telangana IT minister KTR Congratulates winners of LVPEI Incubator Startup Challenge

 

Recently L V Prasad Eye Institute Incubator held its first ever Startup Challenge for eye care innovations. The aim of the challenge was to recognize and promote the best eye care start-ups around the world. Funded by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council’s “BIO NEST” program, the LVPEI Incubator is a one-stop-shop partner for healthcare innovation Provides a platform for eye care innovation with industry leaders, investors and key clinical minds leaders communicate.

The Startup Challenge for eye-care innovation featured 12 projects in medical devices, research, pharmaceuticals and treatments. On April 14, a boot camp was held for 12 shortlisted start-ups, where business mentors provided in-depth training, with opportunities to develop their business plans and marketing strategies including, and engaging with investors, investors and clinicians

Winners were selected based on their level of innovation, social and clinical impact, and the benefits of their business models. The three winners received cash prizes and free admission to LVPEI for 12 months, six months and six months respectively.

The winners were announced at the final held on April 15 at LVPEI’s Kallam Anji Reddy campus in Hyderabad. The function was graced by the Minister for Cities and Urban Development, Industries and Commerce, and Information Technology, Government of Telangana – K T Rama Rao. Other distinguished guests were Ajit Ranganekar (RICH), Executive Director, Research & Innovation Group, Hyderabad :Mr. B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Cyient and Mr. Srinivasa Rao Mahankali , CEO, T-Hub.
