A study conducted by LELO.com conducted a research to identify the top 10 countries with the best sex education. Initially, countries where sex education is obligatory were identified. The study then collected data on education levels, STDs, teenage pregnancy, and abortion rates for each country.
The composite score was then calculated to rank the countries in descending order. Additionally, information regarding the start of sex education in each country was added for context.
While Poland tops the list with a composite score of 67.1, it has one of the lowest STD rates and second-lowest abortion rates. Following closely is Austria proving that quality education directly correlates with low teenage pregnancy cases, STD, and abortion rates.
Cyprus stands out for having the lowest abortion rates on the list, showing the effectiveness of its educational programs in promoting health and well-being. Malta ranks 4th and has low STD and abortion rates, yet it encounters a challenge with its teenage pregnancy rate.
Being the only Asian country on the list, Japan has a composite score of 43.1 and highlights sex education programs from an early age.
