The Ministry of Minority Affairs has launched a new digital module on the UMEED Portal to provide financial support to widows, divorced women, and orphans from minority communities. The initiative, under the UMEED Rules 2025, ensures timely and transparent delivery of aid through Waqf-alal-aulad properties.
With Aadhaar-based verification, online applications, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the system eliminates delays and manual hurdles, making Waqf welfare more efficient and citizen-centric.
State and UT Waqf Boards, along with Mutawallis, will implement the module, raise awareness, and ensure funds reach the grassroots. This marks a significant digital shift in Waqf governance while reinforcing the government’s commitment to social justice, inclusion, and minority welfare.
