Vantara to Build World’s First Wildlife Conservation University in Gujarat

Vantara has announced the creation of the world’s first integrated global university dedicated to wildlife conservation and veterinary sciences in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The initiative aims to strengthen education, research, and practical training in animal welfare while supporting India’s growing focus on ecological sustainability.

Led by Anant Ambani, the proposed university will combine academic learning with field-based conservation practices. Inspired by the legacy of Nalanda University, the institution seeks to develop a globally relevant and purpose-driven education model rooted in knowledge, compassion, and innovation.

The university will offer a wide range of programmes, including wildlife medicine, veterinary sciences, animal behaviour, genetics, epidemiology, and conservation policy. It will also adopt the “One Health” approach, which links human, animal, and environmental health, preparing students to address complex ecological challenges.

By integrating advanced research with hands-on training, the Vantara University aims to produce skilled professionals capable of tackling issues such as biodiversity loss, wildlife diseases, and habitat conservation.

This initiative is expected to position India as a global leader in conservation education, while contributing significantly to the protection of wildlife and sustainable ecosystem management.
