YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed the Union government’s GST restructuring, calling it a “revolutionary step” towards a simpler and fairer tax system.
The GST Council recently approved a major overhaul of the tax regime, reducing rates on several everyday items including hair oil, cornflakes, and health and life insurance policies. Jagan stated that the move would make goods and services more affordable for citizens, while boosting consumption and investment in the economy.
Acknowledging the possibility of initial glitches, he expressed confidence that the benefits would reach end consumers, providing much-needed impetus to economic growth.
