In a move to enhance ease of living and road travel convenience, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched the FASTag Annual Pass on 15 August 2025. Priced at ₹3,000, the pass allows non-commercial vehicle owners to travel across national highways for one year or up to 200 toll crossings without repeated recharges.
The facility is available at 1,150 toll plazas nationwide and can be activated within two hours via the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI’s website. On the launch day, 1.4 lakh users purchased the pass, with over 1.39 lakh toll transactions recorded.
NHAI has strengthened its 1033 helpline, appointed nodal officers at every plaza, and set up real-time grievance channels to ensure smooth adoption. By cutting down on recharges, reducing congestion, and ensuring transparency, the Annual Pass marks another step in India’s digital toll revolution, which already boasts 98% FASTag penetration and over 8 crore users.
