The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the creation of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and innovation in India’s recruitment system. The move was revealed by UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar during a virtual meeting with chairpersons and members of 27 State Public Service Commissions (PSCs).
The CoE will act as a knowledge hub, compiling best practices, SOPs, and innovative measures from UPSC and State PSCs. It aims to promote uniform standards across recruitment bodies and encourage the use of modern tools in examinations and candidate selection.
A key highlight was the mention of the Pratibha Setu portal, which connects UPSC interview-stage candidates (who did not make the final list) with employment opportunities, widening career prospects for aspirants.
The initiative is expected to benefit both candidates and governance by ensuring fairness, transparency, and cooperative federalism in recruitment practices.
