Hyderabad, Monday:
Prominent doctor from Nizamabad, Dr. Kavitha Reddy, formally assumed charge as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Indian Institute of Health and Family Welfare (IIHFW) on Monday.
The charge assumption ceremony was held at the IIHFW office in Hyderabad in the presence of State Government Advisor and Bodhan MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy, along with Jagtial MLA Dr. Sanjay as chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kavitha Reddy expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha for entrusting her with the responsibility. She also thanked PCC President Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, Government Advisor Sudarshan Reddy, and MLAs from Nizamabad district for their support.
She emphasized her commitment to strengthening public healthcare and stated that she would focus on improving medical services in government hospitals. She added that a comprehensive action plan would be implemented to ensure quality healthcare delivery and further development of the Institute.

AIPC Terms Appointment a Major Organizational Milestone
Leaders of the All India Professional Congress (AIPC) described Dr. Kavitha Reddy’s appointment as a significant upgrading milestone, especially in the context of leadership evolution from existing DCC Presidents and Chairpersons to higher institutional responsibilities.
They stated that AIPC, as a frontal organization of the Congress party, plays a crucial role in identifying, mentoring, and elevating professional leaders within the party structure. The organization functions under the guidance of national leadership, including Praveen Chakravarty and Rahul Gandhi, focusing on strengthening policy-driven and professional governance.
