Legal Fraternity Demands Action Against Gummadidala and Jinnaram SIs Over Alleged Assault on Advocate

Attack on High Court Advocate Sparks Massive Protest Call in Sangareddy; Human Rights Activists and Advocates Demand Justice

SANGAREDDY: Human rights activists and members of the legal fraternity have strongly condemned the alleged assault and misconduct against High Court Advocate Mr. Chirala Israel and his family by police officials.

According to sources, after the incident, the SHO of Gummadidala Police Station reportedly brought the accused persons to the police station for inquiry and further legal process.

Serious allegations have also been raised that a breath analyser test was conducted on Advocate Chirala Israel inside the police station, despite him being the person who initially contacted the police through the ‘100’ emergency helpline seeking assistance. Members of the legal fraternity questioned under what legal provisions such a procedure was carried out and demanded clarity regarding the circumstances under which the test was allegedly conducted.

A formal complaint regarding the alleged assault, abuse of power, and misconduct was submitted before the concerned authorities, including the CI, DSP, and Sangareddy SP Mr. Paritosh Pankaj (IPS ), along with supporting video evidence related to the incident.

Speaking on the issue, human rights activist Shashank Pasupuleti stated:

“Wherever there is a violation of human rights, we will stand there. We will continue to support the fight for justice across the entire state of Telangana. No individual, officer, or system is above the Constitution and the rule of law.”

“When the voice of law is attacked, democracy itself is threatened.”

“Human rights are not a privilege given by power they are rights protected by the Constitution.”

According to representatives of the legal fraternity, the Sangareddy SP and DSP have reportedly given complete assurance that justice will be done in the matter and that all aspects of the incident would be examined seriously. It was also stated that disciplinary proceedings and departmental action against the concerned officials would be taken if violations are established during the inquiry.

Human rights activist Shashank Pasupuleti, along with advocates Shivanandan, Pranay, Vannaal Srinivas, Dinesh Maurya, Mandeep, Aishwarya Raj, Narasimha, Ramesh, Srinivas Charry, Giri, Barath, Shivaji, Kranthi, Manoj and others, extended their full support to the protest being organized under the leadership of the Sangareddy Bar Association.

Advocates and activists stated that an attack on an advocate in the presence of police personnel is not merely an attack on one individual, but an attack on the dignity of the legal profession, constitutional rights, and democratic principles.

The protestors are demanding immediate FIR registration against the concerned accused who all invlove in the case and police officials, strict departmental and legal action, protection for advocates, and an independent investigation into the incident.

The legal fraternity warned that if immediate action is not taken against the concerned accused and officers, protests across Telangana could intensify in the coming days through constitutional and democratic means.
