NTA Conducts Massive Mock Drill Ahead of NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a nationwide mock drill on June 20, 2026, to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The exercise covered nearly 23 lakh candidates across 551 cities in India and 14 international cities, making it one of the largest examination preparedness exercises in the country.

The mock drill focused on testing security arrangements, examination logistics, and operational readiness at more than 5,000 examination centres. Over 2.5 lakh security personnel were deployed, while advanced measures such as three-layer security systems, CCTV surveillance, biometric verification, and GPS-enabled transportation of confidential materials were implemented to ensure transparency and prevent malpractice.

The re-examination was ordered following allegations of a paper leak in the original NEET-UG exam conducted on May 3, 2026. The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). To maintain the integrity of the examination process, candidates were instructed to download fresh admit cards and adhere to strict reporting timelines.

NEET-UG serves as the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. Through this extensive mock drill, the NTA aims to restore confidence in the examination system and ensure a fair, secure, and smooth testing experience for millions of aspiring medical students.
