AIPC Leads Telangana Congress Protest at Gandhi Bhavan Over ED Action in National Herald Case

Hyderabad:
Under the leadership of Dr. Aditya Reddy, State President of the All India Professional Congress (AIPC), along with Irfan Aziz, Senior Congress Leader, the Telangana Congress on Tuesday staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, against what it described as the politically motivated misuse of the Enforcement Directorate to target senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The protest focused on the ED’s actions in the National Herald case, which has once again triggered a sharp political confrontation between the ruling BJP and the Opposition.

Addressing party workers, Dr. Aditya Reddy (AIPC State President) said the agitation reflected growing concern among professionals, civil society members and Congress workers over the alleged erosion of democratic institutions. He asserted that central investigative agencies were being selectively used to intimidate Opposition voices, citing the recent refusal by a Delhi court to take cognisance of the ED’s money-laundering complaint as evidence of the case’s weak legal foundation.

The protest witnessed the participation of key representatives of the All India Professional Congress, including Barth, Architectural Head, Santosh, Financial Head, and Sandeepbushan, Civil Society Head – Telangana, along with several other senior leaders and party workers. The speakers jointly condemned what they termed the systematic misuse of central agencies for political vendetta and reaffirmed the Congress party’s resolve to continue its political and legal fight.

All India professional Congress The National Herald case, arising from a private complaint related to the management of Associated Journals Limited and Young Indian, has remained a contentious political issue for over a decade. While the Enforcement Directorate maintains that its probe is lawful, the Congress has consistently denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that the case lacks criminal intent and is driven by political considerations.
