Ayodhya witnessed a spectacular celebration during Deepotsav 2025, illuminating the sacred city with a record-breaking display of 26,17,215 oil lamps along the Saryu River. The grand event set two Guinness World Records — one for the number of lamps lit and another for the largest group Aarti, performed by 2,128 priests and devotees in unison.
The night came alive with chants, illuminated temples, and breathtaking visuals, including a laser and light show, a Ram Leela performance, and a drone display narrating Lord Rama’s divine journey. Fireworks crowned the celebration, transforming Ayodhya into a radiant sea of devotion and heritage.
Organised by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department and the District Administration, Deepotsav 2025 highlighted Ayodhya’s spiritual and cultural grandeur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the festival as a symbol of truth’s triumph and the eternal spirit of Sanatana Dharma, linking it with the city’s transformation and the completion of the grand Ram Temple.
Since its inception in 2017, Deepotsav has grown from 1.71 lakh lamps to over 26 lakh, symbolising Ayodhya’s rising global prominence as a beacon of faith, unity, and culture.
