Political Tensions Rise in Ramgopalpet Over Selective Banner Removals

Hyderabad, June 18 – A political stir has erupted in Ramgopalpet after BJP members accused GHMC officials of selectively targeting and removing their banners while allegedly allowing Congress banners to remain untouched.

The incident took place at City Light Chowrastha on RP Road, where a group of 10 BJP members gathered to protest what they called biased action by the civic authorities.

According to BJP representatives, the banners were part of the nationwide campaign “Viksit Bharat ka Amrit Kaal: Seva, Su-shasan, Garib Kalyan ke 11 Saal”, highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led central government over the past 11 years.

BJP workers allege that GHMC officials, acting under political pressure, dismantled their campaign banners, while Congress party banners that had been displayed for a longer duration were left untouched.

Local BJP leaders criticized what they called a discriminatory approach by municipal authorities. “If GHMC is removing BJP banners, then Congress banners should also be removed immediately,” a party member said, demanding equal treatment and justice.

The BJP has called this a case of political bias and is urging the civic body to take corrective action. Meanwhile, tensions between BJP and Congress continue to escalate in the constituency ahead of upcoming public programs. GHMC officials have yet to release an official statement on the controversy.
